As part of Navia Markets\u2019 CSR initiative under Navia Cares<\/em>, a wheelchair distribution program was conducted to support individuals with disabilities by addressing their essential mobility needs. The beneficiaries were identified with the support of Society for Rights of All Women with Disabilities (SFRAWD). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the beneficiaries is a 12-year-old child diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (75%) from a low-income family in Manali, Chennai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until now, the child\u2019s mother carried her to school every day due to limited mobility. With the wheelchair provided through this initiative, the child is now able to commute to school more independently, easing daily challenges for the family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These wheelchairs will be very useful for me on a daily basis like going to my daily work and will help me to engage in my day to day activities. Before we used to take the assistance of walking sticks which I will always depend on others to seek help in moving from one place to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second beneficiary is a 45-year-old unmarried working woman from an economically marginalised background in Teynampet, Chennai, diagnosed with a Learning Disability (90%). She previously relied on under-arm crutches for commuting to work. After receiving the wheelchair, she expressed her gratitude, as the support has made her daily commute more manageable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
